Stefan Funck<\/strong><\/p>\n i live and work in hamburg for 8 years now. my inition was as 5 year old child whilst playing with my daddy´s microphone and tape recorder… there was a misunderstanding when my father told me about video-players. he introduced them to me as machines capable of playing films on screen from tape, and i thought this tape would be the one i recorded my audio to.. so i started recording storys and sounds, awaiting the machine to put them on screen as a film.. well, i´m a little bit wiser now, but sometimes i still wait for this machine… until then i hope my audience is capable of what the machines can´t do and will visualize the film i made by using means of audibles. i still collect sounds and put them together to make up stories, and i am fascinated by what my audience tells my about what they have seen while listening to me. i mix original recordings with more or less strange-nized, altered, filtered, distorted, ripped and stripped sounds. the composition manifests itself by use of dreamscapes and random reflexes. like in surrealistic painting there are layers upon layers added until the "picture" comes to shape and i did not know before what it was going to "look" or sound like. so my work is never finished, i just stopped working by reaching a certain level of complexity. i love to be in nature, there i find many of my sounds, but also a city has interesting structures of audio wich i try to carve out and combine to something new.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gruenrekorder:<\/strong><\/p>\n Stefan Funck: "Xylol<\/a>" (Gr 037\/06)<\/p>\n V.A.: "Gruenrekorder AudioArt Compilation 03<\/a>" (Gruen 041\/06)<\/p>\n
