David Michael

(1977, USA) has interests that lie somewhere between biology and technology with sound as a common thread. Originally from Birmingham Alabama, he moved to New York in 1995 to study at New York University.

In 2005 he earned an MSc in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems from the University of Sussex and subsequently began working with simulated bioacoustics and making field recordings. His writings have been published in the journals Adaptive Behavior, Organised Sound, and presented as part of the European Conference on Artificial Life (ECAL).

He programs computers professionally and lives with his wife and son in Tarrytown, New York.
